Tonight we celebrated Linda, a dear friend who will be leaving for Houston this Saturday. A farewell dinner for a wonderful lady, whose departure will be greatly missed.
I've known Linda since 2000 when she joined the organisation. We sat in the same cluster, in the right hand corner from where I sat. We clicked from the very first day. She's a bubbly, sociable person... very easy to befriend. In fact, I don't think anyone would find it difficult to be friends with her.
Always positive, infectious laugh, constantly smiling... and with a great sense of style :) We often *discuss* clothes, handbags, shoes, jewellery... although I think she's more up-to-date compared to me ;) Our friendship goes beyond material things... we shared dreams, confided problems, talk about men - thierry henry, craig david and body parts were often discussed, hehe... No wonder lah QIA and HA pening duduk next to us ;p
She's also one smart lass, often *direbut* by bosses for her talent and skills. In her final months with the organisation, we worked together in a team. Often the concern is having your friends as the boss/subordinate... but we never had such problems. And working with her was a great blessing for me.
Linda found her man through a mutual friend... the perfect guy for someone so deserving. Mizlan is the model boyfriend/husband. Their courtship was legendary... as if taken from the pages of romance novels. I'm sure he has a customer loyalty card with the florist ;) I remember her gushing about their first Valentine's Day together (so very the romantic!) and the ultimate was his proposal... on a weekend getaway with some friends that he organised for her birthday, they strolled along the beach during sunset and got down on bended knees for her hand. Everyone say AAWWWW... Some men stop doing all that when they've *got* the girl, but not Mizlan. That's why he's the model husband, hehe...
Together they're known as M&M. They had a beautiful wedding. Soon they were blessed with a little boy, and their family became M3. A few years later the stork delivered a little girl and they're now known as the 4Ms family :) Linda is a devoted mother... those kids are damn lucky! While pregnant she was one funky momma... no matter how tired or heavy she felt, she was always in vogue. I guess the only thing that she had to sacrifice were her favourite pointed heels, which MZ selalu kata is her trademark, hehe...
Dinner tonight was at Santini's followed by dessert at Chinoz. In attendance were Linda, Mizlan, little Marissa Zara, Dell, Kingston, Ana, Azli, Tao, Qaiser, Harizal et moi. Good food amongst great company are always the perfect setting for a great outing.
It was a night to remember...
